conservation ProgramsErie Thames Powerlines is pleased to offer customers a variety of conservation programs that will save dollars, save kilowatts and save the environment, while reducing the strain on our electrical infrastructure. Help create a cleaner, greener Ontario. Get involved in one or all of these exciting energy-saving programs. And remember it’s cheaper to save a kilowatt than to generate a kilowatt, so Every Kilowatt Counts!
Now eliminating unnecessary power usage and reducing your monthly bills is easy with the Meter Loan Program. Erie Thames Powerlines has partnered with the Oxford County Library and Elgin County Library to deliver the "Borrow a Meter - Save a Load!" Meter Loan Program. Simply borrow a meter from your local library, measure the energy consumption of your home appliances and devices, and see where you can cut costs on your energy bill. Included with each meter are simple operating instructions, information on how to calculate the costs of the household appliances as well as 100 energy saving tips.
The objective of the program is to leverage energy conservation and load management opportunities by offering incentives for sustainable, measurable and verifiable energy retrofits that result in on-peak demand savings and/or annual energy savings.
